Shadow Ensemble Terms and Conditions

MEMBERSHIP REQUIREMENTS

  • AGE

    • Shadow Drum and Bugle Corps and Shadow Indoor Percussion - currently in 8th-12th grade

    • Shadow Winterguard - currently in 9th-12th grade

    • Shadow Winterguard Cadets - currently in 4th-8th grade

    • Students from all districts are welcome for all ensembles

  • ATTITUDE

    • Come to us with an open mind, a willingness to work hard, and an interest in making lifelong friendships and you’ll have an experience to remember forever.

  • ABILITY

    • We believe very strongly in inclusion.  Students of all ability levels are encouraged to join.  At Oregon, you never have to be afraid to come as you are.

  • ATTENDANCE

    • All members are expected to be in attendance at all rehearsal

    • Critical family or school conflicts will be excused at the Director’s discretion but such requests must be sent to the director via email before the absence

    • Attendance at all rehearsals, tours, and shows during the summer (for the corps) is mandatory. 

    • Bookmark or sync the Calendar at shadowdbc.org to stay up to date on all rehearsals, events, and shows.

    • Contact us ASAP if you think you may have conflicts.

  • ACCOUNTABILITY

    • All members are expected to adhere not only to the Oregon Way and 5 Core Values but also to the Oregon School District Extracurricular Code.

 

VOLUNTEERISM

  • Shadow ensembles run on people power, and even moreso, on PARENT POWER.  As a result, all families are expected to participate in a reasonable amount of fundraising activities and summer volunteering.  Some families can participate more than others, but all families are expected to contribute. 

  • Our Tours (whenever we're on the road) is the most intensive time of need for volunteers to feed, supervise, drive vehicles, build and move props, and travel with our members.  Parents and family members please visit the Volunteer page and sign up for everything for which you are capable/available.  You'll have a blast and the members' experience will improve because of your involvement.

  • By checking the above Contract Agreement box, you certify that your family will do their best to participate in these activities in good faith, as time and circumstances allow.                                 

 

TUITION/DISCOUNTS

  • Shadow Drum and Bugle Corps

    • $1990 per member due in full by JUNE 1ST, 2019

    • LOCAL MEMBER—Local members not living in Oregon but who will commute from home during the season receive $300 off!

    • OREGON RESIDENT—Residents of the Oregon School District receive $600 off!

    • FAMILY—$100 discount per student for families with two members

    • BIG FAMILY—Families with 3 or 4 members pay 2 FULL tuitions only.  No other deals apply.

    • AGE OUT—2019 High School Graduates will receive an additional 5% off for each year they’ve already marched with Shadow, calculated after all other discounts.

    • Fees refunded if separation occurs prior to April 1st, 2019.

  • Shadow Indoor Percussion

    • $1240 per student due in full by January 30th, 2019.

    • EARLY BIRD - Full payment by December 9th, 2018, will result in a $125 discount.

    • LOCAL MEMBER / RESIDENT—Members who will commute from home receive $200 off!

    • FAMILY—$100 discount per student for families with two members

    • BIG FAMILY—Families with 3 or 4 members pay 2 FULL tuitions only.  No other deals apply.

    • Fees refunded if separation occurs prior to December 27th, 2018.

  • Shadow Winterguard

    • $890 per student due in full by January 30th, 2019.

    • EARLY BIRD - Full payment by December 9th, 2018, will result in an automatic $100 discount.

    • $100 discount per student for families with two members

    • Families with three or four marchers (all winter) pay two FULL tuitions.  No other discounts apply.

    • Fees refunded if separation occurs prior to December 27th, 2018.

  • Shadow Winterguard Cadets

    • $540 per student due in full by January 30th, 2019.

    • EARLY BIRD - Full payment by December 9th, 2018, will result in a $50 discount.

    • $50 discount per student for families with two members

    • Families with three or four marchers (all winter) pay two FULL tuitions.  No other discounts apply.

    • Fees refunded if separation occurs prior to December 27th, 2018.

  • Students are encouraged to pay fees online by visiting the Make a Payment page under the Support heading.  Students can also submit checks or money order to the lockbox in the OHS band room or to:  Oregon Band Boosters, C/O Nick Lane, 456 N Perry Pkwy, Oregon, WI, 53575.  More info regarding finances is available in the Personal Information Packet on each ensemble page.

  • Funds raised through SCRIP can be used to offset your student fees.  Visit Fundraising for more info.

  • Limited financial aid is also available for students in need.  A letter of application is due to the band booster president by March 1st.  Payment plans are also available to those in need.  Contact the Director to make payment arrangements.

  • A non-refundable deposit of $100.00 must be submitted with the online registration form.

  • Students will be required to purchase proper footwear at a maximum cost of $40.00.

  • All members are required to participate in our “telethon” and letter campaign, and participate in our Annual Donation Drive, all in order to raise funds our annual tours.  Members participating in both winter and summer ensembles will only need to meet these requirements once.

  • The Oregon Band Boosters Inc. reserves the right to add required fundraising as necessary.

  • If payments are not made by the due dates, the treasurer has permission to transfer the amount due from the student's account.

  • Nonpayment may result in dismissal from the ensemble without refund of fees already paid.  Payments made in the name of a band student which are in excess of the yearly expenses shall be refunded upon request.

  • Any student discontinuing membership in an ensemble after the separation date above will forfeit 100% of dues that have been paid on their behalf, except in extreme circumstances, the determination of which will be solely at the discretion of the Director.

  • Any student dismissed from the ensemble for persistent or egregious violations of the Core Values or Oregon Way – which decision will be solely at the discretion of the Director – will forfeit 100% of dues already paid on their behalf.

  • Any student dismissed from a Shadow Ensemble for violation(s) of the OSD Co-Curricular Code will forfeit 100% of dues already paid on their behalf.
